The first 6 weeks after surgery:

The steri-strips will be placed on your incision immediately after surgery and will continue to wear them for 6 weeks. Approximately 2- 3 weeks after surgery we will change your steri-strips, thereafter you will change   yourself  every  2-3  days.                                                                         

 

6 weeks to 4 months after surgery:

 You will start using mepiform which is a type of silicone gel sheeting. If you are out of your supply, you can purchase Band- Aid Gel Strips at any grocery or drug store.

4 months to 1 year after surgery:

You should massage lotion with vitamin E or vitamin E oil on your incisions 1 to 2 times a day.

Tanning:

You should wait 6 weeks before tanning.  After 6 weeks keep the incisions covered while tanning for 1 year.

 If you notice any type of irritation around or on your incision call the office immediately.
